Her boundless enthusiasm, crackerjack organizational skills, love of community and great sense of humor are just a few of the reasons we are lucky to have Meg as our Teaching Kitchen Manager.
Meg grew up in Columbus, Indiana, (Go, Colts!). “My mom had a market and bakery like Ginger and Baker on a smaller scale, where she taught cooking classes in the evening,” Meg said. “My first job was washing dishes while she taught.”
Meg also competed in club and high school gymnastics. “I loved it, but then reached a point where I decided to coach instead,” Meg said. After graduating with a degree in communications from Purdue, she was a coordinator and coach for WOGA (World Olympic Gymnastics Academy). “I coordinated all their meets, everything from local events to a 3000 international competition at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. It was so cool!”
Fort Collins’ outdoor lifestyle brought Meg and her husband, Bobby, to the area and they welcomed their daughter Ripley in 2022. After taking a year off, Meg joined the Ginger and Baker team in 2023.
“I love the G&B atmosphere and the people, it’s cozy and the Teaching Kitchen is by far my favorite room,” Meg said. “One of my goals is to build the Teaching Kitchen community. This place is for Fort Collins, it’s for everyone to come and learn. You don’t need an invitation, just come check it out, look at the calendar, ask us questions.”
When not working Meg enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, Jefe, a German Shepherd and Chola, a Shih Tzu. “We’ll go hiking, to the drive-in at the Holiday Twin, and lots of walks with the dogs.”
Her favorite pie? “Sugar Cream Pie, my grandmother makes it all the time.”
