Teaching Kitchen Coordinator

Sharon hails from Daytona Beach, Florida, where she grew up studying both art and cooking. She then earned a degree in Baking and Pastry from The Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, California, and then worked as a pastry chef in Napa, and taught cooking classes for Sur La Table in Sonoma, CA

Sharon moved to Fort Collins with her fiancé so he could study fermentation at CSU (his family is in wine making). She was on the opening team here at Ginger and Baker, working as a bakery manager before she moved into managing the Teaching Kitchen.

“I’m so happy to be the Teaching Kitchen Coordinator. It’s the perfect fit where I get to blend my love of food and food education,” Sharon said. “If I can teach someone a skill that they’ll remember for years to come, and that they can take home to feed their family, then I feel so complete.”

“I want to get people excited about cooking, excited about great ingredients, and love when they walk away feeling like “wow it’s actually way easier than I ever thought to cook a nice meal.” Cooking is 90% confidence and 10% reading the directions,” she said.

Favorite pie? “Key lime! I’m forever a Florida girl.”
