Keeping the Café running smoothly from morning through evening is no easy task, but Café Manager Chad Wilson is fully up to the task, skillfully coordinating the team and making sure everyone enjoys their visit.
Originally from Liberal, Kansas, Chad and his wife and family moved to northern Colorado in 2013 and he joined Ginger and Baker in 2022.
“I’ve worked in restaurants for most of my life. At 14, I started my first job cooking at a small family diner in Liberal,” Chad said. “I didn’t go to culinary school, but I’ve been lucky to work for talented chefs and hospitality managers and have learned as much as I can from all of them.”
Prior to Ginger and Baker, Chad built his resume working both as a sous chef and in front of house management at area restaurants including Austin’s American Grill, Hot Corner Concepts, The Pumphouse and Smokin’ Fins.
“I love the fast pace of the hospitality industry,” Chad said. “Whether working on the line in a kitchen or out front, there is never a dull moment. The camaraderie in the restaurant industry is something very special and I’ve made lifelong friends in this line of work.”
As for Ginger and Baker, Chad jumped in with both feet. “Ginger and Baker is like no other concept I’ve worked for. There are so many things going on between all the different aspects of the business and there’s never a dull moment.”
When not working, Chad enjoys spending time with his wife, Jasa, and three kids. “I have an 18-year-old, a 4-and-a-half-year-old, and a newborn, so they all keep me busy at home,” he said.
