Born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, Amanda began studying piano and vocal technique at the age of 9. Following in the footsteps of her mother, she also picked up the violin a couple years later. From there she went on to study music at Millikin University expanding her music repertoire.
While music remains one of her loves, Amanda also became fascinated with the complexities of restaurant management and hospitality. After college she moved to Chicago, IL, falling in love with the restaurant scene there. She’s worked in the industry for 17 years, moving from serving to trainer to management. For her, the restaurant industry ties closely to her love of performance. “It’s all about creating a memorable experience for the guest.”
Through that time, Colorado was always on her radar, the result of a family trip here as a little girl. Amanda even set a date for relocating – November 1, 2011. After researching the state, she chose Fort Collins for the scenery, biking community, and brewing culture.
Amanda joined the Ginger and Baker team early on. “It sounded like an amazing opportunity, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the ground up,” Amanda said. “It’s been an incredible experience watching Ginger and Baker come to life and seeing how it connects with the community.”
When not at Ginger and Baker, you can usually find Amanda on her bike exploring the backroads and trails of Northern Colorado, hiking and spending down time with with her two dogs and cat.
