Nothing like the taste of Mom’s Strawberry Rhubarb pie made with the fruit coming right from our garden each summer.
She would have to make two pies at a time as we were a family of eight. We could never get enough of that pie or any pie she would make. That may be part of the reason I went into cooking as she was such a great baker.
My wife, Nancy, took on the task of making Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp during the season and carried that into the fall by pulling out rhubarb she’d stored in the freezer. Topped with Ben and Jerry’s vanilla ice cream YUM, I can still taste those fresh sweet and tart flavors now!
