PIE Wines for Pi Day

Robert Parker sums up Phinney’s goal in making Locations wines, “Essentially, what Dave Phinney is doing is making the finest wine possible from different grape varieties grown in different regions.”

P – Portugal. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, and Touriga Franca
Maturation: Barrel aged in French and American oak.

I – Italy. A blend of Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola from the Southern region of Puglia
combined with Barbera from Piemonte in the North.
Maturation: Barrel aged ten months before release.

E – Espana. A blend of Grenache/Garnacha, Tempranillo, Monastrell, and Carignan/Cariñena
Maturation: Barrel aged ten months before release.
