We’re excited to present “Thurgood: An Evening with Thurgood Marshall,” a solo performance starring Michael Anthony Tatmon as Thurgood Marshall, in celebration of Black American History Month.

Join us in the MillTop for a walk through history with Thurgood Marshall, the first Black American Supreme Court Justice and acclaimed Civil Rights lawyer.

The evening also features a full small-plate menu created by our culinary team inspired by The Atlantic Coast Line Dining Car Cookbook. This historic cookbook documents some of the same recipes that Thurgood, his father and his uncle might have served during their time as Pullman car waiters on the B&O Railroad.

The performance will be directed by Dr. Prodan Dimov, Executive Producer is Zhanna Gurvich and Event Manager is Debora Reynolds Tatmon.

Michael Anthony Tatmon studied professionally at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He went on to intern at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta and begin his work with 7 Stages Theater, continuing on to play the titles roles in “Faust,” “Othello” and “Blind Tom.” Tatmon has also played Troy in “Fences” and Tranio in “The Taming of the Shrew.” He was recognized for his work with 7 Stages at the Magnolia Festival in Shanghai, China, as the first American actor to receive a Best Actor’s nod for his portrayal of the Old Man in Eugene Ionesco’s “The Chairs.” When not on stage, we’re lucky to have Michael on our team here at Ginger and Baker.
