Ginger and Baker Book Club

Join Ginger and the team as we discuss this month’s food themed book, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle-Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg.
It’s first the story of two women in the 1980’s, of gray-headed Mrs. Threadgoode telling her life story to Evelyn, who is in the sad slump of middle age. The tale she tells is also of two women—of the irrepressibly dare-devilish tomboy Idgie and her friend Ruth, who back in the thirties ran a little place in Whistle Stop, Alabama, a Southern kind of Cafe Wobegon offering good barbecue and good coffee and all kinds of love and laughter, even an occasional murder.

Food and drink will be available for purchase during the event and a complimentary snack from the book will be served. Visit Old Fire House Books in Old Town Fort Collins to purchase your book. Books purchases at Old Fire House Books the month before or month of book club receive a 20% discount for being a part of the Ginger and Baker Book Club.

*Book Club is a free event. No ticket is necessary but RSVP’s are appreciated.
