Choux Pastry featuring Guest Chef Shauna Scales
Please join us here at Ginger and Baker as we welcome our first international guest chef, Chef Shauna Scales! Professionally trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London, Chef Scales has worked as a private chef for families and corporate clients, in-house chef for a publishing company, and in various catering companies and restaurants. She joined the teaching team at Leiths in 2005 working on their diploma and evening classes.
While visiting Colorado, Chef Scales has kindly offered to lend us her skills in the Teaching Kitchen as she demonstrates how to make Choux Pastry, aka pâte à choux. Choux (pronounced like a sneeze!), is a simple pastry dough that works equally well for sweet and savory treats like eclairs, puff pastries, and little sandwiches. It’s a great trick to have up your sleeve!
Joined by Ginger Graham and Ginger and Baker Culinary Director Chef Deb Traylor, you will have hands-on opportunities with expert guidance as you join fellow classmates in this fun-filled and skill-building opportunity that will surely equip you for further success in your own kitchen adventures. Toast to your success and newly-honed skill with a complementary beverage from our Cafe or coffee bar (additional food and beverages are available for purchase throughout the class.)
Participants must be 18+, and 21+ with photo ID to order alcohol. We request that participants wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Please let us know if you would like to sit with a certain person or group. Registration closes at 5pm the day before the event. While this class does include some light snacking, no full meal is provided. We recommend eating before class or taking advantage of ordering from our full Cafe menu.
The cancellation policy for the Teaching Kitchen at Ginger and Baker allows for a full refund within 24 hours of a purchase and a partial refund up to one week before your scheduled class. Once within one week of your class, we no longer can offer refunds for cancellations, but can happily transfer your registration to a friend or family member designated by you to attend in your place.
