Market Clerk

Summary

The purpose of this role as a Market Specialist is responsible for maintaining outstanding Guest service, generating sales, merchandising, and safe guarding company assets. Personally, engage with our Guests in a Warm and Authentic manner at all times. Create an experience with every Guest that generates a “Good Will Ambassador” for Ginger and Baker. This person will need to uphold the Ginger and Baker customer service experience with all guest interactions.

Essential Functions

  • Push for an exceptional level of Guest satisfaction by responding to each Guest’s individual needs in a timely manner.  Consistently achieves excellent results in satisfaction feedback.  Professionally handle each Guest, incoming phone calls and appropriately close each sale.
  • Monitor customer lines and intervene when necessary.
  • Ensure company guidelines on visual merchandising and inventory.
  • Assist in the execution of the tasks and service associated with the daily operation of Market area, so as to promote operational efficiency and Guest service at the highest possible standard.  Examples of these tasks may include and are not limited to:
  • Opening and closing responsibly
    • Point of sale execution and guest service
    • Floral Maintenance and arranging
    • Receiving, pricing, and merchandising of inventory
    • Stock assessment and procurement
    • Cleaning and preventive maintenance
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate operational activities with key relationships in all areas of Ginger and Baker.
  • Provide history and tour of facilities when possible.
  • Promote a warm and friendly atmosphere among Team Members and guests.
  • Provide the highest standards of service established for the Market Team, consistent with the overall standard of Ginger and Baker.  Actively participate in communicating any and all observations during your shift.
  • Comply with Ginger and Baker policies/procedures and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Team Member Handbook.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY

  • Protect the safety of self, Team Members and Ginger and Baker Guests at all times.
  • Promptly report any incidents and/or potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor and/or appropriate department(s).
  • Report/document safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor and appropriate department(s), following documented procedures.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as required.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. Strong selling and interpersonal skills. High level of creativity. Attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced client driven environment. Good communications skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-year customer service in a High-End Retail setting as a Retail Associate
