Ginger and Baker Hot Toddy
1 1/2 oz. triple-distilled Irish Whiskey
1 oz. honey orange simple syrup
8 oz. hot water
1 Linden Street Spice tea bag (or use black tea or spiced tea)
orange twist, for garnish
In a warm mug, combine whiskey, honey orange simple syrup and hot water. Add tea bag and steep for 3 minutes. Remove tea bag, rub rim of mug with orange twist, garnish and serve. Makes one serving.
Honey Orange Simple Syrup
1 cup honey
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
zest of 1 orange
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes until honey is dissolved and mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat, cool, strain and store in the refrigerator. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
